I am using the short week to write my reaction to blogging.
As with any academic exercise, blogging requires discipline to do research everyweek and write something "Meanful" and not just words to check a box.
It was easier to do than other courses because I was writing about things that related to my job so looking for "creditable" information was easy. The techonrati has been more challenging because it is a bit limited in the amount of information.
Because you are writing about the topic, you need to understand how your reader will preceive your post. The biggest problem was keeping the length down to a short (2 to 3 paragraphs) post. Blogs tend to short in nature. I used a number references to introduce and explain the topic then added details that thought would of interest to the group.
Benefits, surprizingly my blog on e-readers was posted on another group (technology group) list. This shows that some of your work is being picked up by others to read.
I will be interested in their reactions.
This has been enjoyable as well as benefical experience.

From reading your blogs, I can tell that you do enjoyed blogging. Why do you think you enjoy it so much? Do you really think it was because you were interested in the topic or do you personally enjoy the overall concept of blogging?

ReplyDeleteI like blogging because it is quick to do. Sometimes it can be long but for the most part 2 to 3 paragraphs right to the point.
The topics I choose were of interest to me. The blog on e-readers is now making across the northeast likely to be a topic at our next roundtable discussion. One person had read part of my blog andsent me an email to explain a point in more detail. This is a good thing because the detail would have been boring to most reader but knowing the reader I was able to explain and apply it to her situation.
When I read blogs, most of it is for general information but sometimes I go to the source to find out more or send an email. That is how I start on the Google Wave which is beta testing right now (do you want in?) This is suppose to be the fastest operating system and reveloutionize e-mail. I have to see to beleive. This started with a blog 4 or 5 months ago. The writers (creditable)was playing up the new system. Well, we will see.

George, I'm glad to see that you enjoy the blogging experiences. It's a very nice way to share ideas or share something you are passionate about, so choosing the right topic to blog about is critical :)
